Intuition Network
Purpose
The goal of the Intuition Network (IN) is the creation of a world in
which people feel encouraged to rely on their inner resources in their
work and in their personal lives.
The Network
The Intuition Network offers opportunities for networking among individuals
who are interested in cultivating and applying intuition. This networking
takes place via phone and fax, newsletters, journals and magazines, radio
and television, small group gatherings, conferences in "cyberspace," conferences
in hotels, and international travel and spiritual retreats.
Jeffrey is author of three books. The Roots of Consciousness: Psychic Exploration
Through History, Science and Experience was originally published in 1975.
It has been widely used as a college text for courses in consciousness
exploration. A revised edition was published in 1993. His second book,
Psi Development Systems, is an evaluation of ancient and modern methods
for training extrasensory abilities. His third book, Thinking Allowed,
is a collection of interviews from his television series. Since 1988, Jeffrey's
weekly television series, Thinking Allowed, has been shown on public television
stations throughout the United States. During this period he has conducted
over two-hundred interviews with leading figures in psychology, philosophy,
science, health and spirituality.
Jeffrey holds a unique doctoral diploma in "Parapsychology" from the
University of California at Berkeley. Awarded in 1980, it remains the only
doctoral diploma in parapsychology ever awarded by an accredited, American
university. He is also a licensed clinical psychologist.
Thinking Allowed Broadcasts
The Intuition Network is underwriting production of programs, related to
the subject of intuition, for broadcast on Jeffrey Mishlove's weekly interview
series. These programs have been transmitted, every week, via satellite
to PBS stations throughout the United States, since 1988. Starting in 1994,
the interviews will also be available for radio broadcast. Videotapes of
the programs are available through Thinking
Allowed Productions in Berkeley, California, and are widely used as
instructional materials in colleges and universities.
History
The Intuition Network was founded in 1986 by Weston H. Agor, Professor
of Public Administration, University of Texas at El Paso. Author of several
books about intuitive decision making, Dr. Agor designed the Network as
a coalition of small groups where people would come together to share their
knowledge and experience. Receiving generous funding from the Charlson
Research Foundation of Minneapolis, Dr. Agor established a newsletter,
organized conferences, and by 1993 built the Network up to over 7,500 members
throughout the world.
Having achieved this foundation, Dr. Agor chose to bring new leadership
into the Network. He selected psychologist Jeffrey Mishlove to replace
him as Director. In the summer of 1993, Dr. Mishlove arranged for the Intuition
Network to merge with the Institute of Noetic Sciences of Sausalito, California.
In February 1996, IN became an independent nonprofit organization.
